Reflexology for Me!
Posted by: | CommentsI went to a marketing meeting with a friend of a friend to discuss New Stork Times and we had a great lunch at the Rams Head and a good old chat about business, marketing and generally put the world to rights. Anyway it turns out Jen is not only a marketing genius (check out www.lime23.co.uk if you run your own business, and catch her on twitter @Marketing_Jen) but also a lapsed reflexologist. Hallelujah! An internet marketing enthusiast, small business owner AND a reflexologist. Sounds like the ideal combination for a get together. So, readers of my blog, it gives me great pleasure to announce that I will be getting some reflexology on Monday! It has been sooo long, I really can’t wait. Finally taking my own advice and taking some time out…
Free Baby Massage Class
Posted by: | CommentsI may be starting a new baby massage class at Grappenhall Heys Primary School, but I only want to start if there is the demand there. I would like to run it as a pay-as-you-go, term time only class but I will need to know numbers in advance. I will be offering a free first session so if you would like to put your name down email me at helen@newstorktimes.co.uk and I will add you. Thanks
Make Time for Massage
Posted by: | CommentsThe most common complaint I hear from my massage clients is that they would love to have more massage, and it isn’t the cost that stops them coming regularly, it is the time. Particularly with mums – perhaps they feel that their time is better spent with the children, or in the home, or with their husbands, their friends, their elderly parents, or at the school meeting, or at the doctors, dentist, opticians or the million other things that need to be done, attended to or given attention. Nowhere on that list is time for themselves. Are mums somehow less important, or less in need, or are mums a martyr to it all? Would their children, their husbands, their friends, or their parents begrudge them an hour to themselves, to relax and refresh them and do some mums worry about what will happen when they finally stop?
When do you get a full hour to yourself? Lying in silence, being pampered, lowering your blood pressure, regulating your breathing, having the stresses and the strains of the day eased for you? Oh yes, we all take the advice of the magazines and take a time out in the day – read a trashy magazine or the paper, watch a favorite programme, have a bath and a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Trouble is it is usually all at the same time, and more often than not interrupted in one way or another – if not physically by a small person trying to get in the bath, or a grown man asking for the phone number for the doctors then maybe by a guilty thought entering your consciousness, or a mental reminder pinging off if you have forgotten to do something crucial, like take the washing out of the machine…
An hour of massage, reflexology, reiki or a combination, anything where you are in a not-to-be-disturbed environment, are quiet and are paying for it – soon quietens the mind and body and gives you benefits you wouldn’t even imagine.
Lovely Testimonal…
Posted by: | CommentsI love receiving testimonials like this. I find I click with my clients and become very much part of their journey to motherhood and beyond! I’ll let Jo do the rest…
From the first time I spoke to Helen she made me feel normal!!! I had only be trying to get pregnant for a few months but it was stressing me out so I thought I’d try reflexology. Helen asked me on the phone whether I was ready to get pregnant soon as she had a quick success rate….three sessions later and I am now expecting my first child! Helen is a down to earth, fun, woman who fits in at your home like you have known her for years. My husband and I think she is great and are so pleased to have her around to support us throughout this pregnancy. She has magic hands and leaves you feeling very relaxed and confident about the future. Thanks Helen. So glad to have met you! x
NCT Big Weekend Conference
Posted by: | CommentsI have been asked to demo baby massage at the NCTs Big Weekend Conference on the 15th May which is an honour and a huge opportunity to promote my DVD (http://www.newstorktimes.co.uk) as well as meet lots and lots of parents and babies…
I’m really looking forward to it. In the meantime I am planning a tour of the baby and toddler groups in Grappenhall, Thelwall and Lymm. I will be doing mini baby massage sessions for anyone who has a 0 – 6 mth baby and answering any questions you may have about common concerns and how baby massage can help.
If you have a group in this area and you would like to book me for a visit (no charge) please do get in touch at helen@newstorktimes.co.uk
Ladies Night
Posted by: | CommentsI will be at the Grappenhall Pre School Ladies Night on Thursday – I know the tickets have sold out but for anyone who has their tickets – I will see you there! Not doing demos this time (there are plenty of lovely college students doing the hands on pampering) but I will be available to chat about maternity therparies and of course an opportunity to buy my baby massage DVD.
Photos for The Guardian
Posted by: | CommentsNot The Guardian, the Warrington Guardian… I’ve done a photo shoot today for their regular feature on Lindsay – following her through her pregnancy – I know she has done antenatal yoga (with Hania – I used to do yoga with her, she is a fantastic teacher btw) and acupuncture so I offered her the special blueskyholistics treatment today. She really enjoyed it and said she would book me in a few weeks and recommend me to her pregnant friend – so a sucess already. I am hoping that the publicity will make more people in Warrington aware that I exist and I can help ease those pregnancy niggles – sciatica, backache, insomnia, heartburn, anxiety and so on – maternity reflexology is unbelievably powerful! I think it is due to be in the paper in a couple of weeks – so I best get on and finish off this website…

Welcome to blueskyholistics
Posted by: | CommentsHello! My newest blog starts here…
I love blogging but I am not always very disciplined so bear with me – this will just be a collection of news and information from blueskyholistics interspersed with information relating to the world of holistic therapies, maternity reflexology and baby massage.
I type as I think, and am hopeless at proofreading and indeed grammar and not particularly hot with spelling so I hope you read and enjoy it despite this!
